Chili Pot

While shopping at Kohl’s I wandered around their kitchen section and was delighted to find a full line of fine cookware, including Rachael Ray’s pots, pans and coordinating kitchenware and my favorite line of pots and pans, the Calaphon line. They have the full set that I bought 6 years ago and still use every day.

What excited me most was finding a sweet little covered pot that they call a chili pot. It is the perfect size for cooking a family-sized batch of chili or spaghetti sauce. Shelf price of $75 makes it too steep for me to justify an impulse purchase. But I will keep my eye on the Kohl’s sale brochures. If they ever cut the price on the chili pot to get it under $50, I will definitely go down there and buy that chili pot!

Busy Busy Preparations

Of course we are having a house full of people tomorrow. It’s Thanksgiving – my favorite holiday of the year. It’s all about good food, football and giving thanks to our Lord for the many blessing we share. I am so blessed to have a caring family, a roof over my head and access to the internet.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving – and eat a second piece of pie – for me!

New Shows

The 2011 season of shows is about over. I have actually watched a few reruns already. I liked the idea of some of the new shows but there were conflicts in the scheduling. So I watched one series religiously and now that they are almost over with their season they will all be showing reruns and specials. So now I can go watch the second shows that were in conflict with my first choices. Its like a second new season.

Espresso

For me, espresso is the color of furniture. It is a very dark brown, almost black. It is quite stylish in some lines of furniture. I like the espresso finish on long slender and tapered legs, with white knobs of the drawers and doors.

But to my sister, espresso means a coffee drink. That woman is addicted to Starbucks and drinks espress on several times each day. Personally, I do not think that much coffee is good for anyone. But I also wonder how she can afford it several times a day, at $5 per cup?
