Happy Thanksgiving

A quiet Thanksgiving for me. My son went up north to visit family and we stayed home to have a nice dinner. I’m not up for traveling right now, but I’m glad he had the opportunity to go.

I was thinking about not even cooking, but at the last minute I went to the Kroger and bought a small turkey breast and a couple of sweet potatoes. Then I baked an apple pie using fresh apples from the local orchard. At Breeden’s you can pick your own or buy them by the bushel and half bushel. So I bought a half bushel last weekend and have some canning and baking to do!

Hot Chocolate

There are little envelopes of mix to make hot chocolate that makes a delicious cup with just a cup of hot water. I buy them at Kroger for just 50 cents. Tonight was the perfect time for a mug of hot chocolate before heading to bed. A nice luxury to relax with.

If you want to make the recipe even richer, you can use whole milk instead of water. I’ve tried it both ways and prefer the milk. They come in several flavors. I like the chocolate rasberry the best, but the chocolate mint is a close second.

BB and Lucille

I’ve always been a fan of B B King, and especially since my good friend Joyce is fan we both have managed to get tickets to a lot of his concerts and shows, and we go together. There is a B. B. Kings Blues Club downtown, but B B only comes to play there once or twice a year.

Strangely enough, with my involvement in the Blues Society, I have come to learn that all of the guys in B B’s band live here – not in Memphis. I would have thought otherwise, but I don’t blame them a bit for liking it here over Memphis.
