Tax Day

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Can it be April 15th already? My goodness, it seems like I was just writing out a big fat check to Uncle Sam for last year’s taxes just a few months ago! But here it is again!

This year I don’t have to write such a big check, thank goodness. It is hard to keep on top of these things when you work for yourself and you are not an employee. Being self employed is not for everyone, but I love the freedom of making my own decisions and my own schedule and not having anyone but my clients to keep happy.

kitten

I thought this was so cute! He looks just like my new kitten!

Back in the 70′s these rattan “Papasan” chairs were quite the thing! Everybody had one and they were soooo comfortable. If you were the least bit tired you could curl up in the Papasan chair with a good book and soon you would be napping.

Little Bits

Here’s a photo of Little Bits. That’s what we are calling her for now. If we keep her we’ll have to come up with a better name. Little Bits isn’t fitting for a grown cat, and unfortunately all the cute kittens and puppies do grow up.

Haven’t had a cat in years, so I had to drive up to the store and buy some food for my new little kitten. And some litter. If no one posts a “Lost Kitten” around here, I guess i’ll have to keep her. So in a couple days I’ll call the vet and take her in for an exam to make sure she is healthy, and I’m sure she needs some shots of some sort.

There’s no such thing as a free kitten, is there?

Found Kitten

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

When I came out this morning to retrieve the morning newspaper, I noticed something move under my car. At first I was concerned that it might be one of those pesky skunks that seems to have adopted our neighborhood. But on second glance it turned out to be a small kitten.

Now, nobody in my neighborhood even keeps cats. If they have any pets at all they have dogs. So obviously someone threw this poor little thing out of their car window as they drove down the street. I despise people like that!

Well, I couldn’t leave her out there to get run over or eaten by the skunks, so I brought her in. She’s a cute little thing!
