Here is My Claim

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

My sweet young niece, Haley, tells me that I am remiss in not having a Technorati account. So I opened one today and I need to show them this code in a post so I can claim my blog. That sounds easy enough.

I guess I will learn more about why this is important as I go along with the claim.

Snobs at AT&T

Monday, June 15th, 2009

My cell phone is with AT&T and although the service is OK, the phone itself is not working right anymore. It never rings when people call. The friends tell me that they hear it ringing and then after 4 rings it goes to voice mail. But when I have the phone right next to me on the desk I do not hear it ring. The settings are all set to loud and all that – there is something wrong with the phone.

So I stopped by the AT&T retail store near my house. Well, it isn’t really near my house but it was the closest one that I knew about and I had to go over to that part of town anyway. So I walked in and asked to see some of the new phones to replace my old phone. The clerk told me that all the phones in the store are too expensive for me, even though I never asked the price or mentioned being concerned about price. He evidently just decided that I cannot afford a new phone. And then he left me standing there while he waited on the next customer.

I didn’t realize that I looked like a broke down homeless person today. I mean, WTF? I can afford any damn phone I want and I really don’t think it is up to some smart aleck phone store clerk to deny me a new phone.

My Niece is Blogging Now

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

This morning I got a nice email note from my darling niece, Haley. She has got a blog and is blogging now. I did not realize that she was interested in writing posts. That’s so exciting! I’m proud of her and all she does.

If you are interested in learning more about my niece and what she’s doing these days, you can read the Haley McLeod blog, too!

Amazing Race Not “On Demand”

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Doggone it! I was told by a certain someone that all the hit network shows are available on Comcast’s “On Demand.” I don’t even like having cable in the house. The little bit that I watch TV is hardly worth the monthly expense of cable. But everyone seems to need to have cable – especially since after February all the TVs have to be digital or they won’t work without another expensive piece of equipment called a “converter.”

So I have cable and I pay this ridiculous bill every month, and I missed the finale of my favorite show, the Amazing Race, and now I find out it is not even on the “On Demand.”

Phooey!
